Harvest & Hearth

A restaurant site that feels like the room — dark and warm — with the menu set like a printed menu.

Whether the restaurant is open right now is worked out from its real opening hours and shown in the first screen, along with the address and the booking button.

Who it is for

Built for an independent restaurant. Diners want to know three things — is it open, what is on the menu, can I get a table — and most restaurant sites make them hunt for all three.

How it works

  1. 02

The menu is set the way a printed one is — two columns, dots running to the price, dietary marks with a key. Guests can filter to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or nut-free.

  2. 03

Booking requests take the date, time and party size, with the week’s service times beside the form. Parties over eight are pointed to private events, so a big group becomes a conversation rather than a mis-booking.

On a phone

People check a restaurant on their phone, often on the way there. Open or closed, the address and the booking button are all in the first screen.

Most of a small business’s customers arrive on a phone, and it is the view owners see least often.

What changes for yours

  • Your restaurant’s name, and photographs of your own room and food
  • Your menu — you change it yourself whenever the kitchen does
  • Your opening hours, which the open/closed badge follows automatically
  • Your booking rules, including where a large party goes
  • Booking requests to your inbox, or a link to the booking system you already use

What is made up in this demo

  • Harvest & Hearth is a made-up restaurant.
  • The food and room photographs are stock, and the private events page shows marked placeholder frames where your own room photos would go.

Built with Next.js, Sanity, Resend. Every form sends to the owner’s inbox; there is no database to maintain unless the site genuinely needs one.
